Drake under fire as Kendrick Lamar takes aim at Toronto rapper with scorched-earth diss track Euphoria
On his latest diss track, “Euphoria,” Lamar eviscerates Drake over the course of a six-minute heater. (Lamar also mocks the Toronto accent, and makes reference to the classic Chinese restaurant New Ho King).
The track, titled “Euphoria,” was released on Lamar’s YouTube channel on Tuesday morning. And it’s a heater.
“Know you a master manipulator and habitual liar, too / But don’t tell no lie ’bout me, and I won’t tell truths ’bout you,” Lamar raps in the six-minute song’s downtempo first verse.
“Somebody had told me that you got a ring / On God, I’m ready to double the wage / I’d rather do that than let a Canadian n—- make ’Pac turn in his grave,” Lamar raps over a distorted bass line and a church bell, as the song’s intensity increases.
Lamar also appears to channel his inner-Pusha T, calling into question Drake’s suitability as a father: “I got a son to raise, but I can see you know nothin’ ‘bout that.”
And there’s more: “I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk / I hate the way that you dress / I hate the way you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct.”
Near the end of the track, Lamar seems to slip into a Toronto accent, using the slang word ”crodie” several times and making reference to New Ho King, a classic late-night Chinese food spot in downtown Toronto.
“Euphoria” is the second time Lamar has targeted Drake since he kicked this whole thing off with a fiery guest verse on the Future and Metro Boomin song “Like That” back in March.
Since then, Drake has responded twice, first with the track “Push Ups,” and then with the previously mentioned “Taylor Made Freestyle.”
