Tony Awards 2024 nominations: Canadian Rachel McAdams earns nod, while Alicia Keys musical dominates

Among the other nominees for best musical are “Illinoise,” a new dance musical, and “The Outsiders,” based on the seminal novel by S.E. Hinton.

In one of the most crowded and competitive seasons in recent Broadway history, the new musical “Hell’s Kitchen” emerged Tuesday morning with a leading 13 nominations for the 77th annual Tony Awards. 

The semi-autobiographical musical, with music by American singer Alicia Keys, is among the five nominees for the Tony Award for best musical.

“Stereophonic,” a new play that charts the highs and lows of a rock band on the cusp of superstardom, is one of the expected frontrunners for the Tony Award for best play.
