Trudeau’s budget leaves voters feeling negative about the government, according to new poll

The Tories’ lead in the polls remains virtually the same as before the budget, with 38 per cent of respondents supporting the Conservatives, and 20 per cent the Liberals.

If Justin Trudeau’s Liberals hoped the 2024 federal budget — branded “Fairness for Every Generation” — would be remembered for its focus on housing and tax increases on the wealthy, they were right, a new survey suggests.

But if they thought it would improve their fortunes in the polls and give them a boost against Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, they will need to keep trying.
